My headline is just as teaser as it seems the last post took so much out of me that I now need to write an even longer one to get caught up on all the adventures I have been having. Although I am going to allow myself to be a little excited…..

the NEW ALBUM. It . is. ready.

I think I’ll start with the Mill Girls. This started as a poetry project in conjunction with the charity Weaving Musical Threads to mark the 100th anniversary of the Paisley Thread Mill Museum. It has since grown legs. After the celebration in Paisley during which new poetry was read and I performed the song commissioned for the day we all got chatting about the next step. The short story is that there is now a 45 minute show of poetry and music which we have performed at the Glasgow’s Westend Festival, Educational events, a few public houses and we even marched through Paisley as part of a parade. It has been very well received in all venues and next month I am back in Scotland for performances in Paisley and Stirling ( see the gigs page for info and you would would like to see a video of the song I’ll put the link below). it has been a real pleasure to work with the poets not to mention do a wee bit of acting.

I got back from Scotland and headed to Den Hague on the Eurostar. The Eurostar has previously been my saviour for traveling to Europe. It’s not as cheap or quick or direct as the plane but they had no problem with me taking my precious guitar. This has apparently now changed so I will need to look at alternative methods of travel which is a shame – my carbon footprint is big enough already! I had the most awesome time in Den Hague. A house gig hosted by Bronagh and Sam. The turn out was fantastic and I was lucky enough to be joined by my wee brother playing keys. It was a great night and I want to say a big thank you to Bronagh, Sam and Jon for pulling it all together. More gigs in Den Hague and hopefully Brussels soon- watch this space.

I had to get loads of photos taken for the new album. Aiga Photography sorted me out at very short notice and worked with very little material yet managed to produce not bad results . Thanks Aiga

Following this I had a lovely home gig in Skye supporting the great American Singer/writer Dan Reid. Fantastic guy and great musician. It a slightly odd gig for me as I normally know every single person in the hall but many of Dan’s fans had traveled from England and beyond to be there. Definitely the way to meet new people.

Once back from Skye I was straight into a 6 day stint at the Edinburgh festival with the London based Promotions company Lost Horizons. I have worked with these guys a few times in London and it had always been great fun- Edinburgh was even more so. We played the Tron Kirk, had a few gigs in Malones and of course managed a visit to the Royal Oak ( my Alma Mater) . I managed to befriend the Edinburgh harps football teams who in return for being my lifelong fans are going to show all the people who come to hear me play in Edinburgh the correct method of stretching post training….. An interesting story but not one for here- ask me the next time you see me 😉 I was only in the City for 6 days but my picks of the Festival would be Comedy show the PJ men, Breaker- a brilliant play on at the Cowgate Underbelly and The amazing sketch show ‘How Do I Get Up There’ which playing at the Assembly Rooms on George Street. If you get the chance go see them.

And now… we come to the crux of the matter- the NEW ALBUM. It . is. ready.

After months of planning, recording, traveling, torturing of many Italian musicians ( & also a Finnish one) it is finally here. I am delighted with it and hope you will enjoy it too. Pre- orders will start soon and the dates of the launch tour will be announced shortly. I can’t wait.

Really hope I get to see you at a gig soon!

take care
